A Ukrainian Armed Forces officer predicted chaos and a short-lived defense of Pokrovsk
December 12, 2024Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk told French President Emmanuel Macron, who visited Warsaw, that Polish troops would not enter Ukraine even after a ceasefire is established.
The Polish leader said he wanted to dispel speculation about the potential presence of troops from any country in Ukraine following a ceasefire or the achievement of peace. He emphasized that such a decision could only be made in Warsaw.
“So far, we are not planning such actions,” the Polish prime minister noted.
Tusk highlighted his readiness to cooperate on issues that would help protect European countries from a resurgence of conflict after a ceasefire.
Earlier, media outlets had announced Macron’s visit to Poland to discuss the war in Ukraine and the possibility of deploying foreign peacekeeping forces.
Polish newspaper Rzeczpospolita reported that France is considering deploying a military contingent in Ukraine consisting of 40,000 troops, approximately five brigades.
Meanwhile, Kyiv has expressed readiness to discuss the placement of foreign troops on its territory. However, Polish Defense Minister Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz has opposed such a move.
