09.10.2024 12:36The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine continues to maintain its Telegram channel, despite a statement by MP Yaroslav Yurchyshyn that the use of the messaging app in the parliament has already been banned for official purposes on both work and personal devices.
Posts are still being published on the Verkhovna Rada’s channel regularly, with an average frequency of about one post per hour. As of the time of publication today, eight original posts and one repost from President Volodymyr Zelensky have appeared on the channel.
It’s worth noting that currently, all regional military administration heads, various state institutions, the head of the President’s Office Andriy Yermak, and President Zelensky also maintain Telegram channels.
On September 20, it was reported that Ukrainian officials and military personnel were prohibited from using Telegram on official devices, following a decision by the National Cybersecurity Coordination Center.
Additionally, just two days ago, Yurchyshyn announced that officials in the Verkhovna Rada’s office were banned from installing and using Telegram for work purposes, not only on official computers but also on personal devices. This decision was made for security reasons.
