18.12.2025 13:03PrivatBank has offered to pay for medical treatment and prosthetics for a veteran who has lost both upper and lower limbs, after an employee of the bank allegedly insisted that he be photographed holding a bank card in his hands.
This was reported by the bank’s press service.
The state-owned bank also promised to instruct its staff on how to act in such situations.
“The story of improper service provided to a veteran is unacceptable. It lacked the attention, humanity, and responsibility that must be unconditional—especially toward servicemen and veterans—regardless of any rules and regulations. We apologize for the inconvenience caused to our client. We are sorry that this situation was possible. If the veteran agrees to accept our help, we will cover his treatment and prosthetics and provide all necessary support. But we understand that the solution must be systemic, not a one-off, so we will do everything possible to ensure this never happens again. We are reviewing internal procedures and staying in contact with the National Bank of Ukraine so that what happened in our bank does not happen anywhere else. We will also conduct additional training for employees to make such situations impossible in the future,” the statement said.
As a reminder, yesterday we reported that a Ukrainian Armed Forces veteran without arms and legs was asked at PrivatBank to “take the payment card in your hands and hold it up to your face for a photo” in order to reinstate the payments he is entitled to.
In the autumn, media outlets reported that many soldiers lose limbs in combat because aid is provided according to NATO standards that are not suited to the conditions of the war in Ukraine.
