August 1, 2025If Kyiv believes that now is not the time for negotiations, then Moscow is ready to wait.
This was stated by Russian President Vladimir Putin.
“Well, in principle, we can wait. If the leadership of Ukraine believes that now is not the time and that we need to wait, then please — we are ready to wait,” he said.
Earlier, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky discussed a possible meeting with Russian leader Vladimir Putin with his French counterpart Emmanuel Macron, which may take place in August. He stated that a mandatory condition for meeting with the Russian president would be the presence of representatives from European countries at the negotiations.
Before that, the press secretary of the Russian leader, Dmitry Peskov, said that a meeting between Putin and Zelensky is unlikely to take place before the end of August. He explained that such a meeting should mark the conclusion of the conflict resolution process.
