October 12, 2023On the morning of October 12th, in Kyiv, an armed man forcibly entered a business center armed with a gun, expelled the security personnel from the building and discharged several chaotic shots.
The National Police of Ukraine reported this incident.
“The event occurred on Vaclav Havel Boulevard in the Solomianskyi District of Kyiv. The Kyiv police received information that an unknown individual entered the business center and fired shots. Special forces from the Cord Unit immediately arrived at the scene. The armed man, threatening the security guards, forced them to leave the building. He then fired several chaotic shots and threatened to set up a ‘booby trap’ at the entrance to prevent law enforcement officers from entering,” the police reported.
As a result of negotiations, the man was surrendered and was detained.
Later, journalists learned more details about the morning incident in the Solomianskyi District of Kyiv, where an armed man invaded a business center, expelled the security personnel from the building, and fired several chaotic shots.
The perpetrator was revealed to be a former military serviceman.
“At 07:20, a man wearing a bulletproof vest entered the ‘Silver’ business center and fired two shots into the ceiling with a pump-action shotgun. The on-site security personnel took cover in safe places. Afterward, the perpetrator warned about the potential presence of explosives at the building’s entrance in case of an assault by law enforcement. He surrendered to law enforcement officers himself. After his apprehension, the offender refused to explain the motives behind his actions,” a source within law enforcement agencies described.
