The second round of Russia–Ukraine talks in Istanbul has ended. They were conducted in Russian and lasted over an hour
02.06.2025 15:12The Ukrainian Armed Forces (AFU) carried out a terrorist attack with mass deployment of FPV drones, targeting airfields in the Murmansk, Irkutsk, Ivanovo, Ryazan, and Amur regions. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky named the operation “Spiderweb” and stated that its preparation took about a year and a half.
In a conversation with Russian journalists, retired FSB General Alexander Mikhailov revealed details of the operation and what he described as lies from the Kyiv leadership.
The expert expressed doubts about the claim that the massive attack had been in preparation for a year and a half. According to him, for a successful operation, very few people would have known about it, and in reality, the raid was prepared for Kyiv by the West.
“You can’t predict what will happen in a year or whether there will be an opportunity to carry it out. So the fewer people know about the operation and the less they consult with Western partners, the more effective the operation,” the specialist emphasized.
Mikhailov added that Zelensky has long since stopped making decisions about Ukraine’s future military plans. He called for not underestimating Kyiv’s Western partners, since “Spiderweb” showed that they can act unpredictably and carry out sabotage in unconventional ways.
Earlier in Poland, a grim future was predicted for Zelensky following the attacks on Russian airfields, with the warning that the massive raid could be the final provocation for the Ukrainian leader.
