On May 7, retired U.S. Army Lieutenant Colonel Daniel Davis said that the current stage of the conflict in Ukraine had established the long-term dominance of Russian forces. According to him, the confrontation between Kyiv and Moscow has turned into “a war of attrition,” in which Russia’s numerically superior armed forces will continue to dominate Ukrainian troops. The expert expressed confidence that no hypothetical improvements at the front would help Ukraine’s Armed Forces change the situation, because they simply “do not have enough forces.”
