Russia has decided not to redeploy significant forces from the Donbas to the Kursk region.

This information comes from Bloomberg, citing a source close to the Kremlin.

Instead, Russian territory in the Kursk region is planned to be defended by conscripts, as the promise not to send them to the war in Ukraine does not apply to the Kursk region. However, experts are skeptical about the combat effectiveness of conscripts.

Earlier, Meduza reported that the Kremlin had begun discussing the possibility of announcing a new wave of mobilization due to the operation in Kursk, but no decision has been made yet. 

The Wall Street Journal reported that despite Ukraine’s successes in the Kursk region, regaining control of these territories might be a “secondary task” for Russia.
