“The loss of Vuhledar is a matter of time”: MP Bezuglaya criticized the Ukrainian Armed Forces command again after a trip to Donbas
23.09.2024 08:08Moscow has no intention of participating in the second peace summit mentioned by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.
This statement was made by Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova.
“Representatives of Russia did not participate and are not planning to participate in any meetings within the framework of the ‘Bürgenstock process.’ This process has nothing to do with a real settlement,” the spokesperson said.
According to her, “the second summit pursues the same goal – to push through Zelensky’s completely unviable formula as the only basis for resolving the conflict, to gain its support from the global majority, and, on its behalf, to present Russia with an ultimatum for capitulation.”
“We will not participate in such summits,” Zakharova added.
At the same time, she stated that the Kremlin is not rejecting a diplomatic resolution and is ready “to discuss truly serious proposals that take into account the situation ‘on the ground’ and the emerging geopolitical realities.”
Furthermore, according to Zakharova, Russia is ready to discuss a peaceful settlement based on Putin’s June proposals (which, as a reminder, demanded that four Ukrainian regions be handed over to Moscow as a condition for a ceasefire and the start of negotiations).
It should be recalled that Volodymyr Zelensky called for a second “peace summit” to be held in November, which would be based on the “victory plan” drawn up in Kyiv. However, for this to happen, it must first be approved by the West, Zelensky added.
