The Russians have opened a section of the highway that will connect Rostov with Mariupol.
This information reported according to a report from the Mariupol City Council.
A 10-kilometer stretch of road from the border with the Rostov region to Novoazovsk has been put into operation. Work is still ongoing to expand the roadway to four lanes.
The Russians plan to build a highway that will connect Rostov-on-Don with Mariupol, and further on to Simferopol. This is part of a land route to Crimea.
Mariupol Mayor Vadym Boychenko stated that the Russians are actively building military logistics around Mariupol, using the port, railroads, and highways to establish connections with Crimea, bypassing the Kerch Bridge.
