Russia has promised to send the United States “the conditions it requires to achieve a ceasefire” with Ukraine following a phone conversation between President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin.
“As far as we understand, the Russians are going to write up the conditions they will demand in order to reach a ceasefire, which would then allow for broader negotiations,” Rubio said.
“We are awaiting those conditions, and once we receive them, we will have a much clearer understanding of Putin’s calculations when we see what those terms look like,” he added.
Earlier, Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov confirmed that during the meeting in Istanbul, both delegations agreed to exchange lists of conditions for a ceasefire. According to Peskov, the Russian side is currently preparing its list.
