Russia has upgraded the X-101 missiles over the past year of the war

The new modification of the missiles has become a serious threat to Kyiv, acknowledged by Ukrainian intelligence.

“The enemy learns and learns quite quickly. Let me just give you an example: the X-101 cruise missiles – they are completely different from those used in 2022. This missile now has an active electronic warfare system, active protection, thermal decoys and so on,” said Vadym Skybytskyi, a representative of the Main Intelligence Directorate (GUR). “We need to develop everything: air defense, take care of the defense industry, ensure its productivity and implement counteroffensive measures to prevent territorial losses. The experience of 2023 has shown us this,” stated the intelligence officer.

It is worth noting that during the New Year holidays, Russia resumed missile strikes on Ukrainian military targets, delivering the most destructive attack since the beginning of the war. After this, the Ukrainian authorities were forced to admit that Ukrainian air defense could not cope with Russian attacks, despite earlier claims of the complete destruction of all missiles.
