“Russia under sanctions produces more weapons than all of Europe”, – EU Commissioner says

The new European Commissioner for Defense, Andrius Kubilius, stated that Russia, despite being under sanctions, produces more weapons than all of Europe combined.

He made this statement in an interview with RND, urging countries to increase their defense spending.

“Russia today produces more weapons in three months than the entire European arms industry can produce, and in six months, more than the entire Bundeswehr possesses,” Kubilius said.

Earlier, NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte also emphasized that NATO countries’ defense spending should now exceed 3% of GDP.

Speaking at the European branch of the Carnegie Foundation, Rutte noted that Russia “is recovering its capabilities much faster than the Alliance expected and is quickly learning from its mistakes, despite all the efforts of NATO’s Ukrainian allies.” He also pointed out that China “produces weapons 5-6 times faster than the United States.”

It is worth noting that former NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg previously admitted that the Russian army is stronger than the combined European armed forces.
