Russia warns Western countries against sending their troops to Ukraine

Russian President Vladimir Putin stated that if Western countries send their troops to Ukraine, such a decision could escalate into a global conflict, including the use of nuclear weapons.

Putin commented on Macron’s corresponding statements, although he did not mention him in his speech. The Russian President recalled previous wars waged by Western countries against Russia but added that now the consequences for any potential interveners would be much more tragic. He stated that Russia also possesses weapons capable of targeting their territory. Putin emphasized that this realistically threatens conflict involving the use of nuclear weapons, and consequently, the destruction of civilization.

However, Putin also added that any statements about Russia’s alleged plans to attack Europe are nonsense. Thus, Moscow does not intend to initiate a conflict with NATO or other countries but aims to achieve its goals in the war with Ukraine.
