February 29, 2024Ukraine does not produce its own air defense missiles and is entirely dependent on the West for their supply.
This was stated by the spokesperson of the Ukrainian Air Force, Yuri Ignat, in one of the broadcasts on YouTube.
“We do not have our own production even for Soviet systems such as the S-300 and Buk-M1. We are currently receiving everything from the West. Therefore, as we use them, the West should supply them to us. At the same time, they will always be in short supply for us,” said Yuri Ignat.
Earlier, The New York Times reported that without American missile deliveries, Ukrainian air defense missiles could run out by March. Additionally, Ukrainian Ambassador Oksana Markarova recently stated that Ukraine is facing a critical shortage of missiles for air defense systems.
In turn, the White House has also stated that the Ukrainian Armed Forces are running out of ammunition and air defense missiles due to lack of assistance from the United States.
