Russian forces continue their active offensive after the defeat of Ukrainian troops in Avdiivka

Russia manages to maintain an offensive momentum and achieve success on the battlefield after taking control of Avdiivka. In the absence of Western assistance, the superiority of Russian forces over Ukrainian forces and the lag of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in fortifying defensive lines transfer the initiative in the conflict to Russia, reports Newsweek.

According to the American Institute for the Study of War, Russian troops are utilizing tactical opportunities that arose as a result of taking control of Avdiivka and are fairly successfully attempting to advance further into the vicinity of the city.

According to him, Kyiv’s decision, for demographic and economic reasons, not to mobilize all of Ukraine’s young population has placed the responsibility for conducting military operations primarily on the shoulders of individuals aged 40 to 45.
