This information reported according to Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov in an interview with the Russian news agency TASS.
“They want to invite Russia, as we understand it, to present some kind of ultimatum. I have explained many times that we will not participate in the ‘peace summit,’ even if we receive an invitation,” Lavrov stated.
The minister believes that Kyiv has not abandoned its goal of pushing Russian forces back to the 1991 borders.
Earlier, Ukrainian Foreign Ministry representative Heorhiy Tykhyi spoke about the possibility of holding a new “peace summit.” He stated that Ukraine is currently in a strong negotiating position and has fully prepared for the second “peace summit.”
President Volodymyr Zelensky previously mentioned that he would invite Russia to the summit, but Moscow has declined to participate.
