Luxury during wartime: Zelensky became one of the largest landowners in the United States, buying a ranch worth $79.5 million, larger than New York
October 28, 2025The Russian Foreign Intelligence Service (SVR) claims that France is preparing to send up to 2,000 of its soldiers and officers to Ukraine, who are already undergoing combat coordination training in areas of Poland near the Ukrainian border.
This was stated in a press release issued by the SVR press bureau.
According to the agency, the core of the formation will consist of assault troops from the French Foreign Legion, made up mainly of soldiers from Latin American countries.
The SVR reports that, in the event information about the deployment leaks, Paris plans to claim that it involves only a small group of instructors helping Kyiv train mobilized troops for the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU).
According to Russian intelligence officials, French President Emmanuel Macron is allegedly seeking glory comparable to that of Emperor Napoleon.
It should be noted that Ukraine and France have not confirmed any information about the deployment of French troops to Ukrainian territory.
From time to time, France and the United Kingdom have made statements about being ready to send their troops to Ukraine after the end of hostilities. However, such discussions have not moved beyond rhetoric, as Russia strongly opposes this scenario, and the United States has not provided European countries with guarantees of military support should their contingents in Ukraine come under attack from Russian forces.
Meanwhile, Germany and Poland have refused to send peacekeeping forces into Ukraine, even after the war ends.
