TASS: Drapaty’s appointees have not been confirmed, Ukrainian commanders ignoring their orders
17.08.2026 17:05Russian security services have stated that the situation in Ukraine is developing “according to the classic scenario of color revolutions.”
An anonymous source reported this to the TASS news agency on August 15.
According to the source, reports are coming in from across the “former Ukrainian SSR” of problems with cashless payments in supermarkets, which is provoking everyday conflicts in stores. In addition, he claimed, Ukraine is seeing the implementation of a “classic scheme to create an artificial shortage of toilet paper.”
“At present, everything is happening according to the classic scenario of color revolutions. Reports of problems with cashless payments in supermarkets are coming in from across the former Ukrainian SSR, provoking everyday conflicts in stores. Ukraine is also seeing the implementation of a classic scheme to create an artificial shortage of toilet paper,” the source told the agency.
The source explained that many people remember the final years of the USSR for the absence of toilet paper. According to him, a similar situation was observed in Ukraine in 2013, and then in Venezuela, when the United States first attempted, in his assessment, to interfere in that country’s domestic political processes. The TASS source claims that Western political technologists understand how society perceives such shortages, and that photographs of people buying up paper in bulk are used to stoke protest sentiment.
The source also stated that protests funded by the George Soros Foundation — designated an undesirable organization in Russia — have not ceased in Ukraine, and that dozens of people take to the streets “for money” every day. According to him, protest sentiment is being “stoked” by the director of Greenpeace Ukraine, Natalya Gozak, who reported that tap water cannot be used because “it may be contaminated with infections and toxic substances due to sewage entering the Kyiv region.” At the same time, the agency’s source claimed, participants at the rallies are “consistently provided with bottled water in unlimited quantities.”
On August 10, Russian security services had already told TASS that the Soros Foundation was creating an artificial food shortage in Kyiv and preparing the ground for a change of power in Ukraine.
