October 16, 2024Russian military forces have changed their assault tactics and are now advancing in groups of one or two soldiers.
This information reported according to Ruslan Habinet, deputy commander of Ukraine’s 5th Separate Assault Brigade.
He explained that these pinpoint assaults are carried out around the clock, and Ukrainian forces are attempting to fend them off using FPV drones and aerial strikes.
“The enemy sends one or two fighters who maintain a distance of 50-100 meters between them so that we can’t target them all at once with artillery fire. The enemy is aware of our tactics and is trying to wear down our defenses with these small-scale advances. There can be six or seven assault attempts per day, but this doesn’t mean there are six or seven groups. For example, one group of two soldiers moves forward, we destroy them, and then another pair moves in 500 meters behind them. They move continuously and relentlessly, 24/7,” Habinet said.
Previously, “The New York Times” reported that Russia is learning from its mistakes and adapting its battlefield tactics accordingly.
