Russian forces are approaching a strategic supply route for the Ukrainian Armed Forces in the Donetsk region.
According to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, over the past 24 hours, Russian forces conducted 52 attacks in the Pokrovske direction.
As Reuters notes, Pokrovsk is located on a road that serves as an important supply route for Ukrainian military outposts, such as Chasiv Yar and Kostiantynivka. According to the head of the city’s military administration, Serhiy Dobryak, the city is now 20 km from the front line.
Over the weekend, to the northeast of the city, Russian forces advanced even closer to the strategic route, taking control of the village of Lozovatske, located about 6 km from the city, and the settlements of Prohres, Yevhenivka, and Volchye. They are now striking at Ukrainian positions in the areas of the settlements of Zhelanne and Novooleksandrivka.
