Slovak refinery will stop supplying diesel fuel to Ukraine if Kyiv does not resume the transit of oil from Russia

The Slovak oil refinery Slovnaft will cease diesel fuel supplies to Ukraine if Kyiv does not resume the transit of Russian oil.

This was stated by Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico in a video address.

“If the transit of Russian oil through Ukraine is not restored soon, Slovnaft will not continue supplying diesel fuel to Ukraine,” the prime minister said.

Fico emphasized that all information regarding the technical solution for resuming fuel supplies from Russia has already been transmitted to the Ukrainian ambassador in Bratislava.

The Slovak prime minister also called for an early end to the war in Ukraine, which he believes should not be “artificially prolonged with the unrealistic goal of bringing Russia to its knees.”

It is worth noting that in mid-July, Ukraine blocked the transit of Russian oil to Hungary and Slovakia via the Druzhba pipeline.

Last week, the Hungarian side announced that it would block €6.5 billion in payments from the European Peace Facility for compensating arms supplies to Ukraine until the issue with the transit of oil from Lukoil is resolved.
