September 30, 2024Russian social media channels have been reporting since the weekend about a new wave of Russian attacks in the Kursk region. The offensives are reportedly taking place in three directions.
Firstly, Ukrainian positions south of Hlushkove have been attacked, with the intention of pushing the Ukrainian Armed Forces (UAF) back beyond the border.
The second direction of the attack is the village of Plekhovo, south of Sudzha, where the Russians are allegedly attempting to encircle this Ukrainian-held village and cut it off from the border.
Additionally, today, Russian channels reported that the UAF has been pushed out of Olhivka near Korenyovo.
Ukraine has not confirmed these losses, and no changes have been recorded in the Kursk region on the Deep State map.
However, Ukrainian military personnel do confirm that the Russians are attacking.
“Our poor knowledge of the terrain works against us. We felt this fully in Plekhovo, Borky, and Spalny. We lost some guys in Spalny. The enemy has very well-established aerial reconnaissance. There is always something hovering in the air – either a Supercam or a Zala drone,” wrote Ukrainian soldier Kyrylo Sazonov.
“As for the serious possibility of pushing us out of the Kursk region – that could happen in October and November. They are amassing forces, reserves, mainly infantry and tanks. According to expert assessments, there are about 40,000 enemy troops here now. My estimate is that it’s already around 55,000,” Sazonov added.
