Russia’s Foreign Ministry accused Ukraine of trying to discredit Russia’s efforts to collect the bodies of the deceased

Ukrainian authorities are deliberately delaying the process of identifying the bodies of deceased Ukrainian Armed Forces (UAF) soldiers in order to discredit Russia’s efforts in body recovery and to avoid paying compensation to the families of the fallen.

This claim was made by Rodion Miroshnik, Ambassador-at-Large of the Russian Foreign Ministry.

“Ukraine will drag out its part of the work for an unpredictable amount of time. The identification of the bodies by Ukrainian authorities could take as long as they want, especially if they aim to delay it,” the diplomat said.

According to him, the Ukrainian leadership has no real interest in paying compensation to families for the loss of their loved ones in military service.

Previously, Miroshnik also stated that the Ukrainian authorities do not consider the bodies of fallen Ukrainian soldiers to be “their own.” He claimed they hold similar views toward Ukrainian territory and history.
