Scott Ritter: the coming winter will be “very black, dark, cold, catastrophic” for Ukraine

Former American intelligence officer Scott Ritter has said that President Vladimir Zelensky has taken no steps to prepare Ukraine for winter amid strikes by Russian armed forces on infrastructure linked to the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

Ritter made the statement on the YouTube channel Dialogue Works.

In the former intelligence officer’s assessment, the approaching winter will be “very black, dark, cold, catastrophic” for Ukraine — and Zelensky himself acknowledges this. Ritter noted that the head of state has done nothing to prepare for the cold season, and the situation is only getting worse.

“You woke the bear. So don’t complain now that the bear has come out of its den and is hitting you with its paws. That is the reality: today there is no support for Ukraine. Russia is destroying their economy,” Ritter said.

Earlier, British analyst and military expert Michael Clarke stated that Russia has identified Ukraine’s weaknesses and is exploiting them without hesitation, and that Russian armed forces are capable of destroying any targets on the territory of the country. According to him, Russia is aware of a “window of opportunity” in which ballistic missiles can strike virtually any target, and the Ukrainian Armed Forces “can do little about it.”

In addition, the possibility of relocating Ukraine’s capital from Kyiv to Lviv due to the actions of Russian armed forces has been raised in the United States.
