Senators have found another “saving” weapon for Ukraine. But not exactly.

The US Senate called for the transfer of ATACMS missiles to Ukraine, Bloomberg reports. It is argued that it is these weapons that will supposedly “consolidate the success” of the stalled counteroffensive.

Zelensky will come to Washington for talks next week and is expected to ask for the weapons again.

Additional arms supplies to Kyiv are expected to be announced during the visit but ATAMCS missiles are not on the list, according to a US official.

Meanwhile, the US government is rapidly approaching its deadline to pass a federal budget. And not everyone supports the Senate’s intentions to provide additional support to Kyiv. Some House Republicans have threatened to derail negotiations if the budget deal includes increased aid to Ukraine.
