01.06.2026 07:04In Kyiv’s Obolon district, one driver opened fire with a pistol during a road dispute and wounded another party to the argument in the stomach.
This was reported by the Kyiv police.
According to law enforcement, the conflict arose over a right-of-way dispute on the road. During the altercation, the suspect drew a pistol and fired three shots at the 41-year-old driver, then fled the scene.
“It was established that a road dispute arose between the drivers over right of way. During the altercation, the suspect drew a pistol and fired three shots at the 41-year-old driver, then fled the scene,” the Kyiv police reported.
One of the bullets struck the man in the stomach. The victim was hospitalized with a gunshot wound.
A special police operation was launched in the capital, and all police units were directed to search for the suspect. With tactical support from the CORD special unit, investigators conducted a search of the suspect’s residence and detained him under Article 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine. The pistol was seized.
Investigators, under the procedural supervision of the Obolon District Prosecutor’s Office, notified the suspect of suspicion under Part 4 of Article 296 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine — hooliganism involving the use of an object specifically adapted to cause bodily harm. The article carries a sentence of up to seven years in prison.
