These details were disclosed by a source in law enforcement to journalists.
“In the ‘KIA’ car, which was pursued by the border guards, there were four soldiers and one driver. All the servicemen were soldiers from unit A4962. They had escaped from the 9th training battalion of military unit A0666. During their apprehension, one of the soldiers started a fight and began to strangle the border guard. The border guard then fired seven shots from his service pistol. The fatal wound was to the chest area,” the source told.
The State Bureau of Investigations has launched a pre-trial investigation into the border guard’s possible abuse of power. He could face up to ten years in prison.
The following day, the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine officially confirmed the shooting at the border, which resulted in a fatality.
