Skibitsky stated that Ukraine would have difficulty using Tomahawks even if the U.S. supplied them

It would be problematic for Ukraine to use Tomahawk cruise missiles even if the U.S. were to provide them.

This was stated by Vadym Skibitsky, Deputy Head of Ukraine’s Main Intelligence Directorate (HUR), according to The Guardian.

“They are not easy to operate. Their primary launch platforms are warships or strategic bombers. We don’t have strategic bombers,” he said (notably, for the U.S., ships are the main platform for launching these missiles).

Skibitsky also mentioned that negotiations are currently underway with Washington to lift restrictions on the use of ATACMS missiles.

Earlier, The Washington Post claimed that U.S. President Donald Trump had already given such approval. However, Trump himself has not confirmed this.

“For us, it is very important to obtain U.S. approval to use long-range missiles. We want to destroy and disrupt, in accordance with NATO procedures,” Skibitsky stated.

Recall that earlier, Aviation Major General Vladimir Popov said that the delivery of Tomahawk cruise missiles to Ukraine, the possibility of which is being discussed in the media, could trigger World War III. He emphasized that the Tomahawk is a long-range missile capable of carrying nuclear warheads.
