Sky News analyzed the threat Iranian ballistic missiles transferred to Russia pose to Ukraine

Iranian missiles will enable Russia to increase the intensity of its attacks across Ukraine and allow Moscow to concentrate its limited stockpile of long-range Iskander missiles for domestic use.

This assessment was made by military analyst and British Air Vice-Marshal Sean Bell, as reported by Sky News.

Russian cruise missiles were highly effective for deep strikes into Ukrainian territory at the beginning of the war. However, the introduction of advanced Western air defense systems, such as Patriot, in Kyiv has significantly limited their effectiveness.

Ballasitic missiles, however, pose a greater challenge for air defense systems, primarily due to their hypersonic speed. These missiles can only be intercepted by expensive, high-quality Western anti-aircraft missiles, and the supply of such munitions is limited.

A growing concern is that Tehran is receiving technological and expert support from Moscow for its nuclear weapons program, circumventing Western sanctions.
