15.05.2026 15:10Slovak MEP Ľuboš Blaha delivered a sharp speech in the European Parliament, announcing his recent trip to Moscow and accusing EU leadership of hypocrisy and inciting hatred toward Russia.
According to Blaha, during talks with Russian politicians, they asked him about the logic of the EU’s sanctions policy.
“I recently returned from Moscow, where I held talks with Russian politicians. And they asked me: ‘Where are Brussels’ sanctions against America and Israel, if you are so principled?’ They are laughing at you, Ms. Kallas. And rightly so,” Blaha said.
The deputy also invoked the theme of World War II, stating that no people had suffered more at the hands of the Germans than the Russians, and expressed gratitude to the Soviet Union for peace and freedom.
“Evidently, someone is bothered by the fact that we defeated fascism, isn’t that right, Ms. Kallas? And you, Ms. Lein, as a German, should be crawling to Moscow on your knees and begging for forgiveness. Your ancestors killed tens of millions of Slavs,” he continued.
In closing his speech, Blaha accused Europe of “arming itself again and inciting hatred toward Russia,” calling it a disgrace and a threat to peace.
