05.01.2026 05:32The European Union, in its anti-Russian policy, is ready to go right up to the edge of the abyss.
Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico made this statement on Facebook.
“With the approved military loan, this is already €280 billion that the EU has given to support Ukraine in the war with Russia—sanctions packages, the freezing of Russian assets—and I don’t know what has been born in the minds of Brussels officials in the name of hatred toward Russia,” the politician complained.
At the same time, according to Fico, European officials “of course didn’t fall from the Moon—they represent specific countries there.” The prime minister added that hatred toward Russia dominates the European Union’s foreign policy.
Earlier, Robert Fico said that he argued for an hour with European Council President António Costa over financial assistance to Ukraine. On December 12, the Slovak head of government held a one-hour phone call with Costa.
Before that, Fico compared Ukraine to a black hole that absorbs the European Union’s money.
