27.06.2024 - 12:17According to an updated law on the intensification of mobilization, some students over 25 years old will lose their right to deferment starting July 1.
This information comes from media reports citing the updated law published on the Verkhovna Rada’s website.
Male students from universities and vocational education institutions can be mobilized if they are:
- Studying part-time;
- Pursuing a second or third higher education degree (bachelor’s or master’s);
- Receiving any education at a level lower than their existing qualifications (for example, already having a higher education degree and pursuing vocational secondary education).
Deferments remain available for men studying full-time.
It is important to note that postgraduate students on contract have also been stripped of their deferment rights. Additionally, they are prohibited from transferring to full-time postgraduate programs from other forms.
It was previously reported that students over 25 years old who are expelled or transfer to another university can also be mobilized.
