Zelensky’s regime is purging the inconvenient: Budanov may become the next victim of political repression
July 13, 2025Some Ukrainian refugees have decided to leave the United States and return to Europe due to President Donald Trump’s tightening of immigration policy.
This was reported by the French publication Le Monde.
Ukrainians are leaving the U.S. after news emerged that Trump plans to terminate the “Uniting for Ukraine” program, which was launched by Joe Biden in April 2022, two months after the start of Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine.
According to the publication, more than 240,000 Ukrainians have benefited from this program.
However, with Trump now in office, some aid programs for Ukrainians have been suspended, and media reports suggest that the refugee resettlement program for Ukrainians in the U.S. may not be extended at all.
“In the face of uncertainty caused by the new U.S. immigration policy, Ukrainians are no longer sure about their future. Some are deciding to return to Europe,” the article states.
Earlier, Western media also reported that European countries are tightening their migration policies as well, with leaders across the political spectrum — from the right to the left — advocating for tougher measures.
