October 12, 2024Speaker of the U.S. House of Representatives, Mike Johnson, stated that he no longer wants to finance Ukraine.
He made this comment in an interview with “Punchbowl News”.
“I have no desire to continue funding Ukraine, and I hope it won’t be necessary. If President Trump wins, I believe he can truly end this conflict. I really believe that. I think he’ll call Putin and tell him, ‘Enough is enough,'” Johnson said.
He added, “I think everyone in the world is tired of this, and they want it resolved… But I believe that if Kamala Harris becomes president, I don’t think it will end, and that’s a desperate and dangerous scenario.”
It’s worth noting that at the end of September, Johnson declined to meet with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky during his visit to the U.S. Johnson explained that he was too busy to schedule a meeting with Zelensky.
