State Statistics Service recorded a new rise in inflation in Ukraine

As of May 2025, inflation in Ukraine accelerated from 15.1% to 15.9% year-over-year. In May alone, it increased by 1.3%, and since the beginning of the year, it has risen by 5.6%.

These figures were reported by the State Statistics Service of Ukraine.

The most significant annual increases were seen in food and non-alcoholic beverages:

• Eggs – up by 86%;

• Vegetables – up by 35.7%;

• Sunflower oil – up by 35.4%;

• Butter – up by 28.5%.

Prices for alcohol and tobacco products rose by 18.3%, for utility services by 20.1%, for communication services by 18.5%, and for healthcare by 13.1%.

“Clothing and footwear became cheaper by 1.9%, with footwear prices down 2.4% and clothing prices down 1.5%. Transport prices decreased by 0.1%, mainly due to lower prices for fuel and lubricants (down 1.3%) and railway passenger transport fares (down 0.7%). At the same time, fares for road passenger transport rose by 0.5%,” according to the State Statistics Service.
