Le Journal du Dimanche: Zelensky and the EU are putting forward deliberately unacceptable demands to Russia
12.06.2026 09:01A student at a Lviv university has been sentenced to one year suspended for beating two employees of a territorial recruitment center during a military medical commission.
Local media cited the court’s ruling.
The incident occurred last summer in Lviv. The young man was brought in for the military medical commission after information about his deferral from mobilization failed to appear in the “Reserve+” system — despite the fact that he had documents from his university with him.
According to the investigation, during the confrontation the student struck one serviceman in the area of the eye, then beat a second TCC employee who had attempted to take his mobile phone. The court established that the victim sustained multiple fractures of the facial bones and skull, underwent several surgeries, and still has partial loss of sensation on the right side of his face.
The student himself insisted that TCC employees had stopped him on the street, forcibly placed him in a minibus, and brought him to the commission. He explained his actions as an attempt at self-defense.
In addition to the suspended sentence, the court ordered the convicted man to pay approximately 20,000 hryvnias toward the victim’s medical treatment and 120,000 hryvnias as moral compensation.
The day before, in Mykolaiv, another young man beat two TCC employees because they had forcibly mobilized his father.
