Taiwan fears that the United States will stop to support Ukraine

High-ranking officials in Taiwan are concerned that the US will cease to fuel the war in Ukraine, and then they will inevitably face war with China, Politico reports.

The Senate allocated €1.7 billion to Taiwan last week to replenish weapon supplies, but House Speaker Mike Johnson promised to block the bill if it does not include provisions to tighten border security.

“Taiwan is extremely interested in the war in Ukraine and is extremely concerned that we may leave Ukraine,” said Congressman Mike Gallagher, chairman of the US House of Representatives’ special committee on China. The issue of supporting Ukraine has been repeatedly raised in Gallagher’s meetings with Taiwanese leaders, who have noted that the outcome of the Ukrainian conflict will send a signal to Beijing. In addition, Taiwan fears that Trump’s victory in the elections will change the traditional policy of support from the United States.
