This was announced by the Minister of Social Policy, Oksana Zhulyniak.
According to her, discussions are indeed underway regarding price hikes, specifically for gas and electricity.
“Those who will find it difficult to pay for utility services will be provided with subsidies. The budget for next year allocates 50 billion hryvnias for this purpose,” assured the Minister of Social Policy of Ukraine.
Furthermore, the Ministry of Social Policy has developed a digital tool that will automatically notify people that they are eligible for subsidies. It is expected to be fully operational from November, Zhulyniak stated.
As a reminder, the demand to raise prices for gas and electricity (to bring them to “market levels”) is included in a letter that the United States sent to Kyiv. Ukraine must undertake reforms to continue receiving military support from Washington.
