September 27, 2023Ukrainian soldiers are reportedly disappointed with their training by NATO instructors.
This information reported by the French newspaper Le Monde.
“Ukrainian fighters sent to learn warfare tactics in the United Kingdom, Spain, Germany, or Poland admit their disappointment,” the publication states.
According to one of the Ukrainian Armed Forces soldiers who underwent training in the West, the instructors themselves do not always know how to react in unforeseen situations.
The most concerning issue seems to be with aerial reconnaissance drones. Instructors claim that drone reconnaissance is not part of the NATO training program, even though drone warfare is an integral part of combat operations in Ukraine.
Recall that earlier, The Wall Street Journal published a report stating that “insufficient time” was spent on training Ukrainian operators of Western weaponry. Additionally, the publication notes that sometimes the Western-supplied weapons struggle to withstand constant use.
