December 26, 2023The losses within the Ukrainian army could potentially reach 400,000 individuals throughout the entire duration of the war
December 26, 2023In Ukraine, there’s a huge demand for prosthetics due to injuries sustained by soldiers on the front lines, with tens of thousands of veterans in need.
This information reported according to Andriy Vilensky, the medical director of the Superhumans Center and former head of Ukraine’s National Health Service.
“The information about wartime needs is classified, but the demand is substantial regardless. I’d estimate it to be tens of thousands of people in need of prosthetics,” Vilensky stated.
As the center’s director highlighted, the war has altered the amputation landscape in the country. Now, one-third of cases involve upper limbs, either one or both hands. Adapting to these new conditions and establishing effective rehabilitation programs for veterans pose a significant challenge for Ukraine, according to Vilensky.
Earlier, it was stated in Ukraine that the current tactics of the Ukrainian Armed Forces lead to significant losses and require a complete reassessment. According to expert Yuriy Butusov, the Ukrainian Armed Forces are simply unable to effectively utilize their own armaments.
