09.08.2024 - 17:58The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has granted the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine (SBGS) access to all electronic databases and registries, including those with restricted access. Additionally, border guards will now have access to data from state and municipal banks. This measure has been implemented to facilitate the verification of Ukrainian citizens crossing the border.
According to Sudebno-Yuridicheskaya Gazeta, the government adopted this resolution today.
The new changes stipulate that, for the purpose of verifying passport and supporting documents, authorized officials of the SBGS can obtain information free of charge, including through electronic information exchange. This access extends to information from automated systems, communication systems, registries, and databases managed by state authorities or local governments, including restricted-access information.
It is also important to note that since July 17, border guards have been required to check military registration documents for all men aged 18 to 60. This verification applies even to those eligible for deferral, and the documents can be presented either in paper or electronic form.
