28.02.2025 - 10:59The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has shut down the Shlyakh system, which, until yesterday, allowed drivers transporting humanitarian and medical aid to cross the border. From now on, they will have to leave under general regulations.
This was reported by the Ministry of Community and Territorial Development of Ukraine.
Now, drivers carrying medical and humanitarian cargo will need other grounds for crossing the border, as they will no longer be added to the Shlyakh system.
Additionally, the government has instructed the Ministry of Social Policy, which oversees humanitarian aid policies, along with the Ministry of Defense, to develop a mechanism for military-age men to travel abroad for humanitarian missions, according to the ministry’s statement.
Furthermore, starting March 3, the Ministry of Culture will stop granting permission for journalists and artists to leave the country. In 2024, more than 500 artists and journalists of conscription age who had received permission from the ministry to travel abroad did not return.
