Russian troops have crossed the border into Ukraine’s Sumy region and are engaged in fighting in the village of Novenke.

For several days, Russian sources have reported that the Russian army broke through the border from the recently captured settlement of Sverdlikovo.

According to their reports, Russia’s objective is to complicate the supply routes of Ukrainian forces in Sudzha by advancing toward the R200 highway, which leads from Sumy through Novenke and Basovka. They also mention battles near Basovka, though Ukraine has not confirmed this.

Earlier, Russian forces captured several villages in the northern part of the Ukrainian stronghold in the Kursk direction.
