Ukrainian officer calls for creating concentration camps for army dodgers
February 19, 2024After the capture of Avdiivka, Russian forces are freeing up troops for attacks on Uglehirsk.
This was reported by Ukrainian military to the American newspaper The New York Times.
“Soldiers fighting in the Uglehirsk area stated that the fall of Avdiivka, located 55 miles to the northeast, is likely to free up Russian troops to intensify attacks from the north,” the article states.
The publication reminds that the capture of Maryinka and the advance of the Russian Federation in Novomykhailivka also created conditions for this.
The NYT also reminds that the Russians previously unsuccessfully attempted to attack Uglehirsk from the south and east, suffering heavy losses.
Another point where the Russians could launch a major offensive is Rabotine.
The publication also points out that the Russians are intensively attacking Chasiv Yar and holding a group of over 100,000 troops from Kremenna to Kupyansk.
In total, NYT identifies five main directions of Russian attacks (on the map).
