30.03.2026 07:35Starting April 1, certain categories of the population in Ukraine will not be subject to conscription or mobilization.
This is being reported by the media.
Under the law “On Mobilization Preparation and Mobilization,” those who cannot be mobilized include people with serious health problems, those whose family circumstances do not allow them to perform military service, and specialists whose work is important for defense, the economy, and other sectors in the rear.
Also not subject to conscription are those removed from military registration under the law “On Military Duty.” These include, in particular, persons deemed unfit for military service by a military medical commission, persons who have reached the upper age limit of 60, and those who have officially renounced Ukrainian citizenship.
On March 29, reports said that preparations were underway in Ukraine for the mobilization of women.
Before that, Russian security sources claimed that the issue of mobilizing women into the Ukrainian army had been overdue for a long time. According to those sources, the number of personnel in the Ukrainian Armed Forces is rapidly shrinking, there are no new volunteers, and the quality of forcibly mobilized recruits leaves much to be desired. In this connection, the source said, the Ukrainian authorities are “preparing” women for mobilization. It is also noted that positions of brigade commanders’ advisers on gender equality issues are already being introduced in Ukrainian army brigades.
Earlier, a captured Ukrainian soldier said that people with disabilities and homeless people are being forcibly mobilized in Ukraine.
