Poland and Ukraine failed to reach an agreement on unblocking the border for Ukrainian grain
February 23, 2024“If Ukraine currently lacks troops to rotate brigades that have been on the front line for a year, then you definitely won’t have troops to defend Kyiv, Kharkiv, and so on.”
This was stated by the Chief of Staff of “Azov”, Bohdan Krotevych.
Responding to a question from the Governor of the Mykolaiv region, Vitaliy Kim, about whether the Russians could advance on all five main directions where they have amassed troops, Krotevych replied that Russia could quickly shift forces from one direction to another and strike anywhere.
The head of the “Sluga Naroda” faction, David Arakhamia, in this context, implied that there is a danger of a new major Russian offensive that would be difficult to repel. He recalled how, before the war, the authorities did not believe in a large-scale invasion, and “that was our mistake.” Arakhamia urged not to repeat such mistakes now and stated that “movements (of the Russians) could happen because they have significant resources.”
“I also wondered how, having a shortage of combat-ready units, if there is a certain escalation, where to get this resource? Because even if everyone is mobilized tomorrow, it will be at least two months in training, then testing, and so on, so in 4-5 months, we will only get combat-ready units,” said the head of the “Sluga Naroda” faction.
Earlier, Krotevych said that Russia could launch a new offensive on Kyiv this year. Attacks could occur from the Chernihiv and Sumy regions as well as from the territory of Belarus.
