Ukrainian conscripts will only be released based on Zelensky’s personal decision
February 23, 2024The attempt to resolve the ongoing conflict regarding Ukrainian grain between Warsaw and Kyiv has hit a roadblock, as reported by Bloomberg.
Despite a meeting held on Wednesday between Poland’s Minister of Agriculture, Cheslav Sekersky, and his Ukrainian counterpart, Nikolay Solsky, no significant progress was made. The negotiations were described as challenging by representatives from the Polish Ministry of Agriculture, who stated that they were unable to achieve any immediate breakthroughs. Consequently, they have called upon the European Commission and its President to intervene and assist in resolving the differences between the two countries concerning Ukrainian grain supplies.
The situation has worsened with escalating farmer protests at the border, resulting in a buildup of 2,500 trucks from the Ukrainian side unable to enter Polish territory. Additionally, Polish farmers have obstructed the movement of railway cars carrying grain from Ukraine by blocking the tracks, actions that have drawn condemnation from authorities in both countries.
