“Zelensky will agree to elections only if they can be completely rigged,” – says Medvedchuk
17.01.2026 17:05Tino Chrupalla, co-chair of the Alternative for Germany (AfD) party, said that Western countries need to acknowledge the current situation in Ukraine amid the advance of the Russian army.
He said this in an interview with the newspaper Welt am Sonntag.
Speaking about possible ways to reach a settlement, Chrupalla said the only way out is a compromise. He stressed that such a step could be painful for Ukraine, but would allow the loss of life to be stopped.
Otherwise, the politician warned, the conflict would expand and lead to rising tensions in Europe.
Separately, the AfD leader criticized the positions of Berlin and London. In his view, the governments of Germany and the United Kingdom are not contributing to de-escalation, as they continue to sustain the conflict through arms deliveries and financial assistance.
