Zelensky didn’t go to Davos because he feared a harsh reception from Trump

British military analyst Alexander Mercouris commented on Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky’s decision not to attend the World Economic Forum in Davos.

Mercouris spoke about this on his YouTube channel.

Mercouris suggested that Zelensky did not go to Davos because he feared a harsh reception from U.S. President Donald Trump.

“Zelensky learned that Trump published a message from [French President Emmanuel] Macron that had been sent confidentially, and he got scared that if Trump treated Macron like that, then he would do something even worse to him,” the analyst noted.

Earlier, Irish journalist Chay Bowes explained Zelensky’s absence from the Davos forum. In his opinion, leaders of other countries expressed unwillingness to meet with the Ukrainian president.

The World Economic Forum in Davos is taking place from January 19 to 23. As part of the event, representatives of the political and business elite will discuss issues of the global economy and international security.
